USAT: Buccs Wire

Feb 20, 2022

Everyone in the NFL world seems to have their own speculation as to why Tom Brady decided to finally retire after 22 seasons, even though Brady himself has made it pretty clear that family was the biggest reason. - One report, from former NFL player and current sports host Rich Ohrnberger, claimed that the relationship between Brady and Bucs head coach Bruce Arians had soured. - Ohrnberger claimed that Arians would make sweeping changes to game plans that Brady and offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich had already put together, building frustrating with Brady and Leftwich toward Arians. - Arians himself is firing back against those allegations, telling Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times in his usual, colorful style that they’re just not true. - - It seems like there’s one (story) every day now. Everybody is speculating he’s going somewhere else. That don’t bother me. This other (expletive), the relationship thing, that’s so far-fetched.’ - I mean, that’s such (expletive). That’s what pisses me off. I guess probably Byron could corroborate this, too. - First of all, I don’t rehab my Achilles in the morning. I will go over the game plans and add things, but I don’t delete anything. I don’t have to because they do such a good job. - I’ll see some things. Add some things. It’s an awesome collaboration, one of the best I’ve ever been around. - - Halfway through Brady’s first season in Tampa Bay, there were similar “unnamed source” reports that Arians and the GOAT were dealing with tension between them, and both parties squashed the rumors on their way to winning a Super Bowl. - This feels like much of the same, as Brady, Arians and Leftwich teamed up to captain one of the most successful offenses in the NFL over their two seasons together, one of which ended with a Lombardi Trophy. - - Gallery - Best photos of Tom Brady's epic 2-year run with the Bucs - - - - - - view 111 images - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Bucs Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Bucs Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
