After weeks of rumors and speculation, it looks like Aaron Rodgers will be returning to the Green Bay Packers on a new four-year deal that makes him the highest-paid player in NFL history. - Rodgers will make an average of $50 million per year, with a whopping $153 million of the $200 million deal guaranteed. - It’s hard to argue against it, considering Rodgers is coming off back-to-back MVP seasons, putting up some incredible numbers along the way. It’s also impossible to ignore that by comparison, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers got a ridiculous bargain with Tom Brady’s contract over the past two seasons. - Brady’s deal in Tampa Bay paid him $25 million in salary per year, with another $5 million in incentives. The GOAT led the Bucs to a Super Bowl victory in his first season with the team, then put up MVP-worthy numbers of his own in 2021, at 44 years old. - Brady’s Bucs played Rodgers and the Packers twice during that 2020 season, beating them both times. After a 38-10 blowout win in Tampa Bay in October, the Bucs went to Lambeau Field as a hot wild-card team and upset the top-seeded Packers in the NFC title game. - While Packers fans are sure to be thrilled with Rodgers’ return, and rightfully so, Bucs fans should also be grateful for what Brady gave them over the past two seasons, especially considering how comparatively cheap it was to have the greatest quarterback of all time lead them to a Lombardi Trophy. - - List - - Who is the most underrated player in Bucs history? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Bucs Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Bucs Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
