Tom Brady’s two-year run in Tampa Bay was so magical, the Bucs couldn’t even be mad when he announced last month that he would be hanging up his cleats after 22 years in the NFL. - It was the most successful two-year stretch in franchise history, with a 29-10 record (playoffs included), and the second Lombardi Trophy in franchise history. - After Brady appeared to ride off into the sunset, the Bucs headed into the offseason with not just a long list of key players set to hit free agency, but now a gaping hole at the game’s most important position. - In the month-ish, since, there have been rumors connecting the Bucs to everyone from Russell Wilson (traded to the Denver Broncos), Aaron Rodgers (returning to the Packers), Carson Wentz (traded to the Commanders), Deshaun Watson, Jimmy Garoppolo, Baker Mayfield, and just about any other veteran quarterback who might possibly be available. - All along, the Bucs remained hopeful that Brady just wasn’t quite done yet, and that he’d eventually change his mind and return for at least one last ride. - To that end, Tampa Bay’s decision-makers were patient, even as those veteran dominos started to fall earlier this week. Sure, they did their due diligence on a number of potential veteran replacement options, just in case. - But they were always hoping and preparing as if Brady would do what he did Sunday, and let them know he was coming back for the 2022 season. - The Bucs left the light on, and the GOAT just turned the key. - - List - - Tom Brady is back, and Bucs fans can't contain themselves - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Bucs Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Bucs Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
