The Tampa Bay Buccaneers clawed all the way back from a 20-3 halftime deficit, but couldn’t finish the job in a heartbreaking 30-27 loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs. - It was a sluggish start for the defending Super Bowl champs, who struggled in every phase of the game for the better part of three quarters, allowing the Rams to build up a comfortable cushion. But Tom Brady engineered one of his vintage fourth-quarter comebacks, with plenty of help from an opportunistic defense, tying the game up with under a minute left in the fourth quarter. - Tampa Bay’s defense couldn’t hold when it mattered most, though, as Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford found Cooper Kupp for back-to-back completions to set up a chip-shot field goal as time expired to send Los Angeles home for the NFC title game against the San Francisco 49ers. - Brady struggled against relentless pressure for most of the game, as the Bucs did their best to hold back a dominant Rams defensive front without their All-Pro right tackle Tristan Wirfs, who missed the game with an ankle injury. - Despite the ugly first half, Brady finished the game with 329 yards through the air, while Mike Evans had another stellar performance, leading the Bucs with 119 yards and a touchdown on eight receptions. Leonard Fournette delivered a big day in his return from a lengthy injury absence, tallying over 100 total yards and a pair of rushing touchdowns. - - RelatedMike Evans makes more Bucs history vs. Rams - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Bucs Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Bucs Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
