As the NFL world and Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans await a decision from Tom Brady on his future, one thing is for certain. - The GOAT has no interest in a farewell tour before he walks away from the game. - Brady addressed the subject Monday night on his podcast, “Let’s Go!” with Jim Gray. - “I think that would be distracting for me,” Brady said (via ESPN’s Jenna Laine). “My enjoyment comes from not a recognition of kind of what I’ve accomplished as a player in the league — my enjoyment comes from the competition,” Brady said. “More so than anything, even yesterday, I was thinking about competing. I was thinking about, this whole year, about competing. I wasn’t thinking about anything other than that.” - “So when the time comes to think about post-career and second career, I’ll think about those things,” Brady he continued (via Laine). “It’s just when you’re 44, I guess you get asked about that a lot. And a lot of people thought I was done playing football in 2015. A lot of people in 2016 said, ‘You’re done.’ A lot of people in 2018, and when I left the Patriots, they said, ‘You’re done.'” - Brady certainly didn’t look done this season, leading the NFL in both passing yards and touchdown passes in his 22nd season, at 44 years old. He set a new all-time league record for completions in a season, and was voted to the Pro Bowl yet again. - He may walk away, he may return, but Brady clearly doesn’t want to advertise his final season, no matter when it happens to be. - - List - - Tom Brady talks about potential retirement decision - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Bucs Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Bucs Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
