The drama surrounding the Washington Football Team never ends. Washington will announce its new name on Wednesday, Feb. 2, live on NBC’s “Today Show,” and host a fan event two days later to celebrate the new beginning. - Between those days, Congress has scheduled a roundtable inviting several former employees to tell stories from their time in Washington and share their experiences relating to Washington’s toxic workplace culture. - The session will be available via a live stream on Youtube. You can also view the session on the House Committee on Oversight and Reform’s website. - Do you think the date is a coincidence? Of course, it’s not. This is one of the biggest days in the history of Washington’s franchise. The hope from Congress is to give these stories more attention and eventually force the NFL to release the 650,000 emails from Beth Wilkinson’s investigation in Washington. - - The House Oversight Committee continues to keep the bipartisan pressure on the @NFL to #ReleaseTheReport & get to the bottom of Dan Snyder's toxic workplace culture. Roundtable is next Thursday at 10 am the day after the team announces the new name. @OversightDems @GOPoversight pic.twitter.com/z3oHec4KgE - — Tom Manatos (@TomManatos) January 27, 2022 - - - Multiple former employees are scheduled to speak at the roundtable, per Liz Clarke of The Washington Post. - Among the former employees scheduled to speak are Emily Applegate, a former marketing coordinator and ticket sales representative for the team; Melanie Coburn, a former marketing director for the cheerleading squad; Rachel Engleson, a former director of marketing and client relations; Ana Nunez, former coordinator of business development and client services; and Brad Baker, former video production manager. - Per Clarke, the roundtable’s goal is to allow members of the House committee to hear firsthand accounts of the former Washington employees from their time with the team. - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Washington Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Washington Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
