The Washington Football Team held an event at FedEx Field Wednesday to unveil the franchise’s new name and uniforms. Part of the event, at least the reveal, was broadcast live on NBC’s Today Show. - The event didn’t really have any suspense as the name was leaked multiple times before Wednesday’s announcement. The team tweeted at 8:11 a.m. announcing a new era of Washington Football and that “we are the Washington Commanders.” - The Today Show’s reveal was set for 8:12 a.m. - Team president Jason Wright, franchise legend Doug Williams and Pro Bowl defensive tackle Jonathan Allen were a part of Washington’s TV reveal. - Owners Dan and Tanya Snyder spoke at the event, as did Wright. The team also invited numerous former players to town for the event, from Gary Clark, Brian Mitchell and Dexter Manley to Jordan Reed and Pierre Garcon. - Now, let’s look at some of the top photos from Washington’s rebranding. - -
