It’s been a busy week for Washington Pro Bowl defensive tackle Jonathan Allen. First, Allen was at FedEx Field and on NBC’s Today Show Wednesday for the franchise’s unveiling of the new name. The Washington Football Team is now the Washington Commanders. - After the event, Allen hopped on a plane for Las Vegas for his first Pro Bowl. The Pro Bowl is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 6, at Allegiant Stadium in Vegas. - At the Pro Bowl, players talk to other top players around the league. For some, it’s about catching up with old friends; for others, it’s about making new friends. - On Friday, Washington Commanders’ Twitter was in an uproar when Allen’s wife, Hannah, posted a photo on Instagram from the Pro Bowl with her husband. Also in the picture, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and his famous wife, Ciara. - - - - - - - - - - - - - View this post on Instagram - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - A post shared by Hannah Allen (@iam_hanallen) - - - - - Any other time, this is no big deal. And, honestly, it’s still no big deal. However, Washington has made it known it will be big-game hunting for a franchise quarterback this offseason. While nothing has been said officially, because, well, it can’t be, Wilson and Aaron Rodgers are considered Ron Rivera’s swing-for-the-fences options under center. - Of course, Wilson and Rodgers need to be made available first, and there’s no indication will happen. Why would Seattle or Green Bay trade quarterbacks of that caliber? - But that doesn’t mean teams won’t call. Some will be aggressive, while others will at least check in on the quarterbacks. - Naturally, Washington fans had fun with the photo. One even photoshopped Ciara in a Commanders’ jacket. - The odds of Wilson ever coming to Washington are slim. But it’s the offseason, and hope is in the air. -   -   -   - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Washington Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Washington Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
