“The news for the NFL this past week was certainly not good, ” commented John Feinstein launching his weekly appearance on “The Sports Junkies,” Friday morning on 106.7 the Fan - The Junkies inquired to Feinstein regarding his observations primarily concerning the Brian Flores suit vs the Miami Dolphins, NY Giants, Denver Broncos and the NFL, and the new revelations concerning Washington Commanders owner Daniel Snyder. - Feinstein conveyed Flores not getting hired and being passed over confirmed what Tony Dungy, Mike Tomlin, Jim Caldwell and Lovie Smith said to him in his research for his current book, “Raise a Fist, Take a Knee.” - Feinstein was clear he does not think the Flores suit will ever come to court. “The NFL does not want discovery anymore than they want the Snyder report to come out. This is why they specifically asked to not have a report in writing. It is part of their coverup… I believe there will be a settlement of some kind.” - Regarding the newest allegations against Dan Snyder, Eric Bickel spoke of how we all know who Snyder is and therefore this newest testimony was not shocking to any of us. To which Feinstein simply replied, “You add it to the pile.” - Bickel without hesitation agreed, saying Snyder “should have already been gotten rid of a long time ago… Isn’t he (Snyder) going to go scorched turf on all the other owners?” - “They know he is litigious,” affirmed Feinstein.  “If they throw him out, as an owner he probably knows stuff about owners we do not know. He will absolutely go public. The bottom line is this is an old white boys club…Look what happened to Bob Kraft. He got off on a technicality.” - It is no secret that Feinstein loathes Dan Snyder, often being heard calling him horrible, evil, etc. Friday with tongue-in-cheek John offered, “By the way, I do think one of the reasons they picked ‘Commanders’ for the name is because Snyder is going to claim to be the ‘Commander in Chief’ and he is going to want them to play, ‘Hail to the Chief’ when he walks into his box at games.” - The Duke Alumnus referenced meeting Roger Goodell years ago, asking the NFL commissioner what they were going to do with Snyder, to which Goodell responded, “Oh, Dan is a great guy. I like Dan, he is really a good guy.” - Feinstein added the Congressional roundtable last week actually possessed no authority, “Congress does not have the power to force the NFL to provide Congress a report, or to force the NFL to do anything.” - Feinstein told of how he has testified before Congress, but the process doesn’t “do anything other than give the congressmen some publicity.” He is correct, and by now, shouldn’t all thinking adults know it as well? - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Washington Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Washington Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
