Only one day later and Washington was eliminated from the show. - Thursday, ESPN’s Dianna Russini reported multiple teams had offers on the table for Aaron Rodgers. Washington fans hearing Coach Rivera repeatedly speak of swinging big for a QB hoped Washington was one of the teams. - Friday, she popped their balloons, “The sense I get is Washington is not in this game,” said Russini on the Kevin Sheehan AM 980 radio show. - Russini was repeating Friday that Rodgers wants $50 million per year, adding, “One team I know is comfortable and ready to go with that. This is coming down to where Aaron Rodgers wants to go. I know the teams where he would want to go and Washington is not on it.” - When asked if she would name the teams, she declined, explaining she has been asked to “please” not do such and clubs don’t want their current QB to know they are attempting to move on to Aaron Rodgers. Russini is confident the Packers do not want to trade Rodgers to an NFC team. - Moving to Russell Wilson, Russini conveyed she was told by Seattle wide receiver Tyler Lockett, “He (Wilson) is going to be a Seattle Seahawk.” She said Lockett expressed relationships are better than a year ago when Wilson told management he wanted to be traded. - Meanwhile, Deshaun Watson has multiple teams who would trade for him, even with legal questions hovering over his head. Russini said she was told by one executive that “Watson is an organization changer, setting you up for the next 10 years.” - Russini offered a criticism of Ron Rivera in how he has named the Rams and Bucs as teams that went all-in for a quarterback and won the Super Bowl. She reasoned Washington is not built like the Rams or Bucs and their defense did not perform last year. She said she appreciates Rivera’s attitude but doesn’t know how he thinks it will all come together. She sees the Commanders ending up with a bridge QB again and having to draft one. - Actually, most serious (and enlightening) was Russini expressing wholeheartedly that ever since she gave birth to her child she has learned this is the most underrated thing, while everyone goes on talking about how great other things are. - She expressed how before a child, it was easy to play on the phone and make calls, call your source, not care about anything else. But now, “Michael needs me, depends on me to survive and live…  I can’t leave him in the car and make a phone call. I am learning how to balance it all.” - Puts all of this football in perspective, doesn’t it? - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Washington Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Washington Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
