The Washington Commanders have some key free agents set to hit the open market next month. Fortunately for Washington, only one full-time starter is scheduled for unrestricted free agency. The bad news is that player is Pro Bowl guard Brandon Scherff. - After franchising Scherff the last two seasons, the Commanders are unlikely to use the tag on any player this offseason. As for Scherff, he’s still a top-five guard in the NFL, but he missed six games in 2021 and hasn’t played a full schedule since 2016. Washington attempted to keep Scherff on a long-term deal, and the interest apparently was not mutual. - It’s time to separate for both parties. - Pro Football Focus recently released its annual list of the top 200 NFL free agents. Washington landed five players on the list, with Scherff leading the way. -
