The media reports surrounding the exits from his last two NFL teams paint new Washington quarterback Carson Wentz negatively. The reports suggest Wentz is stubborn to coaching, is a poor leader and not great in the locker room. - However, when Wentz was traded from Philadelphia to Indianapolis last offseason, multiple former Eagles teammates defended Wentz. - Since his trade from Indianapolis, several former Colts defended Wentz, including star linebacker Darius Leonard. Last week, another high-profile member of the Colts had good things to say about Wentz in All-Pro running back Jonathan Taylor. - Taylor, who was in Atlantic City to receive the Bert Bell Award, given to the NFL player of the year by the Maxwell Club, spoke about his former quarterback, per Chris Franklin of NJ.com. - I’m definitely sad to see Carson go. He was amazing in the locker room, but on the field as well. When you look at some of the plays he made on the field, but off the field, he was an amazing guy. He always made sure to get in contact with any and everyone on the team. - Taylor’s comments are the latest that go against the narrative that Wentz wasn’t great in the locker room. - Perhaps Wentz is stubborn to hard coaching, but some of the comments made against him seem too personal. Wentz has plenty of questions to answer, but his personality in Washington’s locker room will be the least of his problems. Wentz certainly understands this is his final chance to being a successful NFL starting quarterback. - If he fails, then he becomes a well-paid backup quarterback. However, if he succeeds, Washington has its quarterback. -   - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Washington Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Washington Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
