The Washington Commanders now have the second-best quarterback in the NFC East. They have the best receiver in the division, so stated Colin Cowherd last week analyzing the Carson Wentz trade to Washington. - Cowherd continued that in his opinion they may possess arguably the best head coach in the division. Though he was quick to say Mike McCarthy did win a Super Bowl with Green Bay, he still feels Rivera might be the better coach. - Appealing to Wentz’s size of 6-foot-5, 237 pounds, and a touchdown to interception ratio of 3:1, Cowherd said, “Hell yes, this is good for Washington!” - Feeling the Colts and Eagles had “average wide receiver rooms” Cowherd believes last season’s 27:7 TD/Int numbers show what he can do. By contrast, Cowherd stated confidently, he believes Terry McLaurin is a legitimate number one receiver who could potentially catch 100 passes from Wentz if both are healthy. - Cowherd then asked if you didn’t know the quarterback’s name and I told you what he did last year, “27 touchdowns, 7 interceptions 95 passer rating, 210 passing yards a game, winning record, 6-5, 240, can move and has an arm. I would take that.” - “Is he reckless? Absolutely. No one questions this. He is too reckless, but I would take him.” - - “Carson Wentz lost to the Jags, and Jim Irsay (Colts owner) freaked out.” This is a big win for Washington! A major upgrade over Taylor Heinicke, a major upgrade over Ryan Fitzpatrick.” -   - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Washington Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Washington Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
