Andrew Norwell not only signed to be the Washington Commanders new starting left guard. He signed because he wanted to come play for Ron Rivera. - Last week, in meeting the local press, Norwell was not shy, “I’m fired up to be a Commander. I’m just looking forward to this opportunity.” From the start, Norvell has made it clear, his signing was not merely about money, he desired to again play for line coach John Matsko and Rivera. “Their consistency. The way coach treats his players. he’s very consistent, gives everybody an opportunity. he gave me an opportunity when I was a rookie.” - It certainly was not about the money, as Norwell signed a bargain deal for Washington. It is a two-year deal for $10 million.
