Adrian Aucoin is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for 17 seasons. He was born on July 3, 1973, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Aucoin began his hockey career in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) with the Cornwall Royals in 1990. He played for the Royals for three seasons before being drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in the fifth round of the 1992 NHL Entry Draft.

Aucoin made his NHL debut with the Canucks in the 1994-95 season. He played for the Canucks for four seasons before being traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning in 1998. He played for the Lightning for one season before being traded to the New York Islanders in 2001. Aucoin played for the Islanders for four seasons and was named team captain in 2005.

In 2006, Aucoin signed a four-year contract with the Chicago Blackhawks. He played for the Blackhawks for three seasons before being traded to the Calgary Flames in 2009. Aucoin played for the Flames for one season before signing a one-year contract with the Phoenix Coyotes in 2010. He played for the Coyotes for two seasons before retiring from professional hockey in 2013.

Throughout his NHL career, Aucoin was known for his strong defensive play and his ability to contribute offensively. He was a skilled skater and had a powerful shot from the point. Aucoin was also a respected leader on and off the ice, serving as team captain for both the Islanders and the Coyotes.
