Anthony Miller is a former American football wide receiver who played in the National Football League (NFL) for ten seasons. He was born on October 22, 1965, in Riverside, California, and attended the University of Tennessee, where he played college football for the Volunteers.
Miller was selected by the San Diego Chargers in the first round of the 1988 NFL Draft, and he played for the team for four seasons. During his time with the Chargers, Miller established himself as one of the league's top receivers, earning Pro Bowl honors in 1989 and 1991. He also set several team records, including most receptions in a season (84) and most receiving yards in a season (1,320).
In 1992, Miller was traded to the Atlanta Falcons, where he played for five seasons. He continued to be a productive receiver, earning Pro Bowl honors in 1993 and 1994. He also set several team records with the Falcons, including most receptions in a season (99) and most receiving yards in a season (1,434).
Miller finished his NFL career with the Dallas Cowboys, where he played for one season in 1997. He retired after the season with a career total of 593 receptions for 9,296 yards and 63 touchdowns.
Throughout his career, Miller was known for his speed and agility, as well as his ability to make difficult catches. He was also a durable player, missing only six games in his ten-year career.
After retiring from football, Miller worked as a football analyst for ESPN and CBS Sports. He also founded the Anthony Miller Foundation, which provides scholarships and other support to underprivileged youth in his hometown of Riverside, California.
In recognition of his accomplishments on the field, Miller was inducted into the San Diego Chargers Hall of Fame in 1999 and the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame in 2007. He is also a member of the University of Tennessee Athletics Hall of Fame and the Riverside Sports Hall of Fame.
