Billy Cundiff is a former American football placekicker who played for several teams during his career. He began his professional career in 2002 when he signed with the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent. He spent two seasons with the Cowboys before being traded to the New Orleans Saints in 2005.

Cundiff played for the Saints for just one season before being released and signing with the Cleveland Browns. He spent two seasons with the Browns before being released again and signing with the Baltimore Ravens in 2009.

It was with the Ravens that Cundiff had his most successful years. He was named to the Pro Bowl in 2010 and helped lead the team to the playoffs in 2011. However, Cundiff is perhaps best known for his missed field goal in the 2011 AFC Championship game against the New England Patriots. The miss cost the Ravens a chance to tie the game and potentially send it into overtime.

After the miss, Cundiff's career began to decline. He was released by the Ravens in 2012 and signed with the Washington Redskins. He played just five games with the Redskins before being released again and signing with the San Francisco 49ers. He played just one game with the 49ers before being released once again.

Cundiff's final season in the NFL was in 2013 when he signed with the Cleveland Browns for a second time. He played in all 16 games that season, but struggled with accuracy, making just 80% of his field goal attempts. He was released by the Browns in 2014 and did not play in the NFL again.

Overall, Cundiff had a solid career as a placekicker in the NFL. He made 76.7% of his field goal attempts and scored a total of 1,117 points. While he will always be remembered for his missed field goal in the 2011 AFC Championship game, he was a reliable kicker for most of his career and helped several teams during his time in the league.
