Bob Kuechenberg was an American football player who played as an offensive guard for the Miami Dolphins in the National Football League (NFL). He was born on October 14, 1947, in Gary, Indiana, and attended the University of Notre Dame, where he played college football.
Kuechenberg was not drafted by any NFL team after college, but he signed as a free agent with the Philadelphia Eagles in 1969. He played for the Eagles for one season before being released and signed by the Miami Dolphins in 1970.
Kuechenberg played for the Dolphins for 14 seasons, from 1970 to 1983. During his career, he was a key member of the Dolphins' offensive line, which helped the team win two Super Bowl championships in 1972 and 1973. He was also selected to six Pro Bowls and was named to the All-Pro team twice.
Kuechenberg was known for his toughness and durability, playing in 196 consecutive games for the Dolphins from 1970 to 1983. He was also versatile, playing at both guard and tackle positions during his career.
