Bobby Simmons is a former professional basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for over a decade. He was born on June 2, 1980, in Chicago, Illinois, and attended DePaul University, where he played college basketball.

Simmons began his professional career in 2001 when he was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Washington Wizards. He played sparingly in his rookie season, appearing in only 13 games and averaging just 1.8 points per game. However, he showed promise in his second season, averaging 6.4 points and 3.3 rebounds per game.

In 2004, Simmons signed with the Los Angeles Clippers as a free agent. He had a breakout season in 2004-05, averaging 16.4 points and 5.9 rebounds per game and earning the NBA's Most Improved Player award. He continued to play well for the Clippers over the next two seasons, averaging over 13 points per game in each season.

In 2007, Simmons was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in a multi-player deal. He played two seasons for the Bucks, averaging 12.4 points and 5.5 rebounds per game in his first season with the team. However, injuries limited his playing time in his second season, and he appeared in only 24 games.

After his stint with the Bucks, Simmons played for several other NBA teams, including the New Jersey Nets, San Antonio Spurs, and Philadelphia 76ers. He was primarily used as a role player during this time, providing scoring and rebounding off the bench.

Simmons' NBA career came to an end in 2012 when he was waived by the Los Angeles Clippers. He finished his career with averages of 8.7 points and 4.1 rebounds per game.

Despite his relatively short NBA career, Simmons had a successful run and was known for his scoring ability and versatility on the court. He was also a respected teammate and leader, earning the NBA's Community Assist Award in 2006 for his charitable work off the court.

After retiring from basketball, Simmons has remained involved in the sport as a coach and mentor. He has worked with several youth basketball programs and has also served as an assistant coach for the Windy City Bulls, the NBA G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls.
