Brandon Bass is a retired American professional basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for over a decade. He was born on April 30, 1985, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and attended Capitol High School in Baton Rouge. Bass played college basketball at Louisiana State University (LSU) from 2003 to 2005, where he was named to the SEC All-Freshman team in his first year.

Bass was selected in the second round of the 2005 NBA draft by the New Orleans Hornets, but he was traded to the Dallas Mavericks before the start of the season. He played sparingly in his rookie year, averaging just 2.3 points and 1.5 rebounds per game. However, he improved in his second year, averaging 4.5 points and 2.3 rebounds per game, and he became a regular contributor off the bench for the Mavericks.

In 2007, Bass signed with the Indiana Pacers as a free agent, but he played just one season with the team before being traded to the Dallas Mavericks in 2008. He played two more seasons with the Mavericks, helping the team win the NBA championship in 2011. Bass was a key contributor off the bench during the playoffs, averaging 7.7 points and 4.0 rebounds per game.

After the championship season, Bass signed with the Boston Celtics as a free agent. He played four seasons with the Celtics, where he became a starter and averaged double-digit points in three of those seasons. Bass was known for his mid-range jump shot and his ability to rebound and defend. He was also a fan favorite in Boston for his hard work and toughness on the court.

In 2015, Bass signed with the Los Angeles Lakers as a free agent, where he played one season before signing with the Clippers in 2016. He played just one season with the Clippers before becoming a free agent again in 2017. Bass did not sign with another team and announced his retirement from the NBA in August 2017.
