Brock Nelson is a professional ice hockey player who has had a successful career in the National Hockey League (NHL). He was born on October 15, 1991, in Warroad, Minnesota, and began playing hockey at a young age. Nelson played for the Warroad High School hockey team and was a standout player, leading his team to a state championship in 2009.

After graduating from high school, Nelson played for the University of North Dakota for three seasons. He was a top scorer for the team and helped them reach the NCAA Frozen Four in 2011 and 2012. In 2012, Nelson was drafted by the New York Islanders in the first round, 30th overall.

Nelson made his NHL debut with the Islanders in the 2013-2014 season and quickly established himself as a key player on the team. He scored his first NHL goal in his second game and finished the season with 14 goals and 12 assists in 72 games. Nelson continued to improve in the following seasons, scoring 20 goals in the 2014-2015 season and 26 goals in the 2015-2016 season.

Nelson's strong play earned him a six-year contract extension with the Islanders in 2016. He continued to be a consistent scorer for the team, scoring 20 or more goals in each of the next three seasons. In the 2018-2019 season, Nelson had a career-high 53 points and helped lead the Islanders to the second round of the playoffs.

Nelson's success continued in the 2019-2020 season, as he scored 26 goals and had 54 points in 68 games before the season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He also played a key role in the Islanders' playoff run, scoring nine goals in 22 games and helping the team reach the Eastern Conference Finals.

In the 2020-2021 season, Nelson was named an alternate captain for the Islanders and continued to be a top scorer for the team. He scored 18 goals and had 33 points in 56 games and helped lead the Islanders to the playoffs once again.

Throughout his career, Nelson has been known for his strong two-way play and his ability to score goals. He has also been a durable player, missing only a handful of games due to injury. As of 2022, Nelson is still an active player in the NHL and is considered one of the top players on the Islanders.
