Chad Johnson is a former professional ice hockey goaltender who played for various teams in the National Hockey League (NHL) and American Hockey League (AHL) during his career. Johnson was born on June 10, 1986, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, and began playing hockey at a young age.

Johnson played junior hockey for the Calgary Hitmen of the Western Hockey League (WHL) from 2003 to 2006. He was then drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the fifth round of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. Johnson spent several years playing in the AHL for various teams, including the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, the Connecticut Whale, and the Portland Pirates.

Johnson made his NHL debut with the New York Rangers in 2009, but he only played in one game that season. He then signed with the Phoenix Coyotes in 2012 and played in 4 games for them that season. Johnson's breakout season came in 2013-2014 when he played for the Boston Bruins. He played in 27 games that season and had a 17-4-3 record with a .925 save percentage.

After his successful season with the Bruins, Johnson signed with the New York Islanders in 2014 but only played in 19 games for them that season. He then signed with the Buffalo Sabres in 2015 and played in 45 games for them that season. Johnson's time with the Sabres was not as successful as his time with the Bruins, as he had a 22-16-4 record with a .920 save percentage.

Johnson then signed with the Calgary Flames in 2016 and played in 36 games for them that season. He had a 18-15-1 record with a .910 save percentage. Johnson's final season in the NHL was in 2018-2019 when he played for the Anaheim Ducks. He only played in 10 games that season and had a 2-6-0 record with a .878 save percentage.

Overall, Johnson played in 192 NHL games during his career and had a 80-67-18 record with a .909 save percentage. He also played in 245 AHL games and had a 128-87-23 record with a .916 save percentage. Johnson retired from professional hockey in 2020.
