Charlie Blackmon is a professional baseball player who has had a successful career in the Major League Baseball (MLB). He was born on July 1, 1986, in Dallas, Texas, and attended Georgia Tech, where he played college baseball.

Blackmon was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the second round of the 2008 MLB draft. He made his MLB debut in 2011 and played in 27 games that season. In 2012, he played in 42 games and hit .283 with two home runs and 11 RBIs.

Blackmon became a regular starter for the Rockies in 2013 and had a breakout season in 2014. He hit .288 with 19 home runs, 72 RBIs, and 28 stolen bases. He was named to his first All-Star team and finished eighth in the National League MVP voting.

In 2017, Blackmon had another outstanding season. He hit .331 with 37 home runs, 104 RBIs, and 14 stolen bases. He led the National League in batting average, hits (213), and runs scored (137) and won his second consecutive Silver Slugger award. He was also named to his third All-Star team and finished fifth in the MVP voting.

Blackmon signed a six-year, $108 million contract extension with the Rockies in 2018. He continued to be a productive player in the following years, hitting .314 with 29 home runs and 70 RBIs in 2018 and .314 with 32 home runs and 86 RBIs in 2019.

In 2020, Blackmon had a shortened season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He hit .303 with six home runs and 42 RBIs in 59 games.

Throughout his career, Blackmon has been known for his hitting ability, speed on the bases, and solid defense in center field. He has been named to four All-Star teams, won two Silver Slugger awards, and one Gold Glove award. He has a career batting average of .303 with 150 home runs, 615 RBIs, and 143 stolen bases.
