Clifford Ray is a former professional basketball player who had a successful career in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was a center and power forward who was known for his defensive prowess and rebounding ability.

Ray was drafted by the Golden State Warriors in 1972 and played for them until 1977. During his time with the Warriors, he was a two-time NBA All-Star and was part of the 1975 NBA Championship team. He was also named to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team in 1976.

Ray was then traded to the Chicago Bulls in 1977 and played for them until 1981. During his time with the Bulls, he was a two-time NBA All-Star and was named to the NBA All-Defensive First Team in 1979.
