Colby Rasmus is a former Major League Baseball outfielder who played for several teams during his career. He was born on August 11, 1986, in Columbus, Georgia, and was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the first round of the 2005 MLB draft.

Rasmus made his MLB debut with the Cardinals in 2009 and quickly established himself as a promising young player. He hit 16 home runs and drove in 52 runs in his rookie season, and followed that up with a strong sophomore campaign in which he hit 23 home runs and drove in 66 runs.

Despite his early success, Rasmus struggled with consistency throughout his career. He was traded to the Toronto Blue Jays in 2011, where he had a career year, hitting 23 home runs and driving in 75 runs. However, he struggled in the following seasons and was traded to the Houston Astros in 2015.

Rasmus played a key role in the Astros' playoff run in 2015, hitting three home runs in the postseason. He had another solid season in 2016, hitting 25 home runs and driving in 61 runs, but struggled with injuries in 2017 and announced his retirement from baseball in 2018 at the age of 31.

Throughout his career, Rasmus was known for his power hitting and strong defensive skills. He finished his career with a .241 batting average, 165 home runs, and 490 RBIs. Despite his struggles with consistency, he was a valuable player for several teams and will be remembered as a talented outfielder who had the potential to be a star.
