Colin White is a former professional ice hockey player who played as a defenseman in the National Hockey League (NHL) for over a decade. He was born on December 12, 1977, in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, Canada. White started his hockey career in the junior leagues, playing for the Hull Olympiques of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) from 1994 to 1997.

In 1996, White was drafted by the New Jersey Devils in the second round of the NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut in the 1999-2000 season and quickly established himself as a reliable defenseman. White was known for his physical play, shot-blocking ability, and defensive prowess. He was a key member of the Devils' defense corps during their Stanley Cup championship runs in 2000 and 2003.

White played for the Devils for 11 seasons, from 1999 to 2010. During his time with the team, he played in 743 regular-season games, scoring 20 goals and 105 assists for a total of 125 points. He also played in 111 playoff games, scoring 3 goals and 12 assists for a total of 15 points. White was a two-time Stanley Cup champion with the Devils, in 2000 and 2003.

In 2010, White was traded to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for a conditional draft pick. He played for the Sharks for two seasons, from 2010 to 2012. During his time with the team, he played in 54 regular-season games, scoring 1 goal and 4 assists for a total of 5 points. He also played in 12 playoff games, scoring 1 goal and 1 assist for a total of 2 points.

After the 2011-2012 season, White became an unrestricted free agent and did not sign with any team. He officially announced his retirement from professional hockey in 2013. In total, White played in 797 NHL games, scoring 21 goals and 109 assists for a total of 130 points. He was known for his physical play, shot-blocking ability, and defensive prowess, and was a key member of two Stanley Cup championship teams with the New Jersey Devils.
