Dallas Eakins is a former professional ice hockey player and current coach. He began his career in the Western Hockey League (WHL) with the Winnipeg Warriors in 1985. He played for several teams in the WHL before being drafted by the Washington Capitals in 1985. Eakins played for the Capitals' minor league affiliates for several years before being traded to the Winnipeg Jets in 1993.

Eakins played for the Jets for two seasons before being traded to the Florida Panthers in 1995. He played for the Panthers for one season before being traded to the St. Louis Blues in 1996. Eakins played for the Blues for one season before being traded to the Phoenix Coyotes in 1997. He played for the Coyotes for one season before being traded to the New York Rangers in 1998.

Eakins played for the Rangers for one season before being traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1999. He played for the Maple Leafs for two seasons before being traded to the New York Islanders in 2001. Eakins played for the Islanders for one season before retiring from professional hockey in 2002.

After retiring from professional hockey, Eakins became a coach. He began his coaching career as an assistant coach with the Toronto Marlies in the American Hockey League (AHL) in 2005. He became the head coach of the Marlies in 2009 and led the team to the Calder Cup Finals in 2012.

Eakins was hired as the head coach of the Edmonton Oilers in 2013. He coached the Oilers for two seasons before being fired in 2015. Eakins then became the head coach of the San Diego Gulls in the AHL in 2015. He led the Gulls to the Western Conference Finals in 2016.

Eakins was hired as the head coach of the Anaheim Ducks in 2019. He has coached the Ducks for two seasons so far.
