Dan Jennings is a former professional baseball player who primarily played as a left-handed pitcher. He was born in Berkeley, California, and attended the University of Nebraska, where he played college baseball for the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Jennings began his professional career when he was drafted by the Florida Marlins in the ninth round of the 2008 Major League Baseball (MLB) Draft. He spent several years in the minor leagues before making his MLB debut with the Marlins in April 2012.

During his time with the Marlins, Jennings was known for his solid pitching and ability to handle pressure situations. He was primarily used as a relief pitcher, often coming into games in the late innings to protect a lead. His best season with the Marlins came in 2014, when he posted a 1.34 ERA in 47 appearances.

In December 2014, Jennings was traded to the Chicago White Sox. He continued to perform well in Chicago, posting a 3.99 ERA in 53 appearances in 2015. However, his time with the White Sox was marred by a scary incident in August 2015, when he was hit in the head by a line drive. Fortunately, he was able to recover and return to the mound later in the season.

After his stint with the White Sox, Jennings had brief stints with the Tampa Bay Rays, Milwaukee Brewers, and Washington Nationals. Despite his journeyman career, Jennings was generally effective wherever he pitched, demonstrating a knack for getting out of tough situations and providing valuable innings out of the bullpen.

Throughout his career, Jennings was known for his competitive spirit and work ethic. He was a reliable presence in the bullpen, and his ability to pitch in high-leverage situations made him a valuable asset to his teams. Despite never being a star player, Jennings carved out a respectable career in the MLB thanks to his consistency and resilience.
