Dave Meggett is a former American football player who played as a running back and return specialist in the National Football League (NFL). He was born on April 30, 1966, in Charleston, South Carolina, and attended the University of South Carolina, where he played college football for the Gamecocks.

Meggett was selected by the New York Giants in the fifth round of the 1989 NFL Draft. He played for the Giants for six seasons from 1989 to 1994, where he was primarily used as a third-down back and return specialist. He was a key player in the Giants' Super Bowl XXV victory over the Buffalo Bills, where he had 177 all-purpose yards and a touchdown.

In 1995, Meggett signed with the New England Patriots as a free agent. He played for the Patriots for three seasons from 1995 to 1997, where he continued to excel as a return specialist and third-down back. He was named to the Pro Bowl in 1995 and 1996 and was a key player in the Patriots' run to Super Bowl XXXI in 1996.

Meggett finished his NFL career with the New York Jets in 1998. He played in 14 games for the Jets, primarily as a return specialist, before retiring at the end of the season.
