Eric Hicks is a former American football defensive end who played in the National Football League (NFL) for several years. He was born on May 3, 1976, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and attended North Forsyth High School. Hicks went on to play college football at the University of Maryland, where he was a standout defensive lineman.

After going undrafted in the NFL Draft, Hicks signed with the Kansas City Chiefs as a free agent in 1998. He spent his entire NFL career with the Chiefs, playing for the team for nine seasons. During his time with the Chiefs, Hicks established himself as a reliable and productive player on the defensive line.

Hicks was known for his size and strength, as well as his ability to rush the passer and disrupt opposing offenses. He was a key part of the Chiefs' defense during his tenure with the team, helping them to several playoff appearances and earning recognition as one of the top defensive players in the league.
