Eric Martin was a professional football player who played as a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL). He was born on May 15, 1962, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, and attended Louisiana State University (LSU) where he played college football.

Martin was drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the seventh round of the 1985 NFL Draft. He quickly established himself as a reliable receiver and became a favorite target of quarterback Bobby Hebert. Martin's best season came in 1989 when he caught 85 passes for 1,055 yards and 8 touchdowns. He was named to the Pro Bowl that year and was also named a first-team All-Pro.

Martin played for the Saints for nine seasons before being traded to the Kansas City Chiefs in 1994. He played one season for the Chiefs before retiring from the NFL.
