Evander Hood is a former American football defensive tackle who played in the National Football League (NFL) for several teams. He was born on November 3, 1987, in Amarillo, Texas, and attended Palo Duro High School in Amarillo. Hood played college football at the University of Missouri, where he was a standout defensive lineman.
Hood was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft, 32nd overall. He played for the Steelers for five seasons, from 2009 to 2013, and was a member of the team that won Super Bowl XLIII in 2009. Hood was a solid contributor on the Steelers' defensive line, recording 11.5 sacks and 164 tackles during his time with the team.

In 2017, Hood signed with the Washington Redskins, where he played for two seasons. He was a backup defensive lineman for the Redskins, recording one sack and 11 tackles in 2017 and 2018. Hood was released by the Redskins in March 2019 and did not play in the NFL again.
