Gerald McCoy is a former American football defensive tackle who played in the National Football League (NFL) for ten seasons. He was born on February 25, 1988, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and attended the University of Oklahoma, where he played college football for the Oklahoma Sooners.
McCoy was selected third overall by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2010 NFL Draft. He quickly established himself as one of the best defensive tackles in the league, earning six Pro Bowl selections and three First-Team All-Pro honors during his time with the Buccaneers.
