Hal Greer was an American professional basketball player who had a successful career in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was a ten-time All-Star and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1982.

Greer was born in Huntington, West Virginia in 1936. He attended Marshall University, where he was a three-time All-American. He was drafted by the Syracuse Nationals in 1958 and played for them until the team moved to Philadelphia and became the 76ers in 1963.

Greer was an integral part of the 76ers' 1967 championship team, leading the team in scoring with a career-high 24.1 points per game. He was also named to the All-NBA First Team that season. He was a key contributor to the 76ers' 1968 championship team as well, averaging 20.7 points per game.

Greer was known for his ability to score from all over the court. He was a great shooter, but he was also adept at driving to the basket and finishing with a layup or dunk. He was also a great passer, averaging 4.2 assists per game in his career.

Greer retired in 1973 after 15 seasons in the NBA. He finished his career with a total of 21,586 points, which ranked him fourth all-time in scoring at the time of his retirement. He was also the 76ers' all-time leader in points, assists, and games played.
