Henrik Tallinder is a retired Swedish professional ice hockey player who played as a defenseman. He began his career in Sweden, playing for AIK in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) before being drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the second round of the 1997 NHL Entry Draft.
Tallinder made his NHL debut in the 2001-2002 season and spent the majority of his career with the Sabres, playing for them for eight seasons. During his time with the Sabres, he was known for his strong defensive play and his ability to move the puck up the ice. He was also a key member of the team's penalty kill unit.
In 2010, Tallinder signed with the New Jersey Devils as a free agent. He played for the Devils for three seasons, helping them reach the Stanley Cup Finals in 2012. He then spent one season with the Sabres before finishing his career with the Kloten Flyers in Switzerland.
Throughout his career, Tallinder represented Sweden in international competition, including the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy, where he helped Sweden win the gold medal. He also played in the World Championships and the World Cup of Hockey.
Tallinder retired from professional hockey in 2016 and has since worked as a coach and scout. He has also been involved in various charitable organizations, including the Buffalo Sabres Foundation and the Swedish Childhood Cancer Foundation.
