Jake Muzzin is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who has played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for over a decade. He was born on February 21, 1989, in Woodstock, Ontario, Canada. Muzzin began his hockey career playing for the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) in 2005. He played for the Greyhounds for four seasons, from 2005 to 2009, and was named the team's captain in his final season.
In 2010, Muzzin signed as an undrafted free agent with the Los Angeles Kings. He spent the majority of his first professional season playing for the Manchester Monarchs, the Kings' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate. Muzzin made his NHL debut with the Kings on November 16, 2010, and played in 11 games during the 2010-11 season. He became a regular on the Kings' roster during the 2011-12 season and helped the team win their first Stanley Cup championship in franchise history.
Muzzin continued to be a key player for the Kings over the next several seasons. He was known for his physical play and his ability to contribute offensively.
