Jakub Voracek is a Czech professional ice hockey player who has had a successful career in the National Hockey League (NHL). He was born on August 15, 1989, in Kladno, Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic). Voracek began his hockey career in his home country, playing for HC Kladno in the Czech Extraliga. He was drafted seventh overall by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft and made his NHL debut in 2008.

Voracek spent the first four seasons of his NHL career with the Blue Jackets, where he established himself as a reliable scorer and playmaker. In his second season, he recorded 50 points (16 goals, 34 assists) in 81 games, and in his fourth season, he set a career-high with 67 points (18 goals, 49 assists) in 82 games.

In 2011, Voracek was traded to the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for Jeff Carter. He quickly became a key player for the Flyers, playing on the top line and contributing offensively. In his first season with the team, he recorded 49 points (18 goals, 31 assists) in 78 games. He followed that up with a career-high 81 points (22 goals, 59 assists) in 82 games in the 2014-15 season, earning him a spot in the NHL All-Star Game.

Voracek continued to be a consistent scorer for the Flyers over the next several seasons, recording at least 20 goals and 60 points in each of the next three seasons. He also became known for his playmaking abilities, leading the league in assists in the 2017-18 season with 65.

In addition to his success in the NHL, Voracek has also represented the Czech Republic in international competition. He has played in several World Championships and was a member of the Czech team that won the gold medal at the 2010 IIHF World Championship.

Throughout his career, Voracek has been known for his speed, skill, and offensive abilities.
