Javier Valentin is a former professional baseball player who played as a catcher in Major League Baseball (MLB) for over a decade. He was born on September 19, 1975, in Manati, Puerto Rico, and began his baseball career in the minor leagues in 1993.

In 2007, he suffered a season-ending injury after tearing his right hamstring while running to first base. He returned to the Reds in 2008 but was limited to just 23 games due to a knee injury.
