Jay McClement is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player who played as a center. He was born on March 2, 1983, in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. McClement began his hockey career in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) with the Brampton Battalion in 1999. He played for the Battalion for four seasons, from 1999 to 2003, and was named the team captain in his final year.

In 2001, McClement was drafted by the St. Louis Blues in the second round, 57th overall, in the NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut with the Blues in the 2005-06 season and played for the team for six seasons. During his time with the Blues, McClement was known for his defensive skills and his ability to win faceoffs. He was also a key penalty killer for the team.

In 2011, McClement was traded to the Colorado Avalanche, where he played for one season. He then signed as a free agent with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2012 and played for the team for three seasons. During his time with the Maple Leafs, McClement continued to be a reliable defensive player and penalty killer.
