Jeff Herrod is a former American football linebacker who played in the National Football League (NFL) for ten seasons. He was born on April 28, 1966, in Atlanta, Georgia, and attended the University of Mississippi, where he played college football for the Ole Miss Rebels.

Herrod was selected by the Indianapolis Colts in the eighth round of the 1988 NFL Draft. He played for the Colts from 1988 to 1996, starting in 118 of the 131 games he played for the team. He was known for his toughness and durability, playing through injuries and leading the team in tackles for several seasons. He was also a team captain and a fan favorite, earning the nickname "Hacksaw" for his hard hits and aggressive play.

In 1997, Herrod signed with the Philadelphia Eagles as a free agent. He played for the Eagles for two seasons, starting in 27 of the 32 games he played for the team. He continued to be a reliable tackler and a leader on defense, helping the Eagles reach the playoffs in 1998.

After the 1998 season, Herrod retired from the NFL. He finished his career with 1,078 tackles, 10.5 sacks, and 5 interceptions. He was named to the Pro Bowl in 1995 and was a two-time All-Pro selection.

After retiring from football, Herrod worked as a sports analyst for local television stations in Indianapolis and Philadelphia. He also founded the Jeff Herrod Foundation, which provides scholarships and support for underprivileged children in the Atlanta area.
