Jerry Hughes is a professional American football player who has had a successful career in the National Football League (NFL). He was born on August 13, 1988, in Sugar Land, Texas, and attended TCU (Texas Christian University) where he played college football.

Hughes was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He played for the Colts for three seasons, from 2010 to 2012, and was primarily used as a pass-rushing defensive end. During his time with the Colts, Hughes recorded 62 tackles, 5.0 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles.

In 2013, Hughes was traded to the Buffalo Bills, where he has spent the majority of his NFL career.
