Jim Taylor was a professional football player who had a successful career in the National Football League (NFL). He played for the Green Bay Packers from 1958 to 1966 and was a five-time Pro Bowler. Taylor was a powerful and punishing runner who was known for his ability to break tackles and gain yards. He was a key member of the Packers' championship teams of 1961 and 1962 and was named the NFL Most Valuable Player in 1962.

Taylor was a two-time All-American at Louisiana State University before being drafted by the Packers in the second round of the 1958 NFL Draft. He quickly became a fan favorite in Green Bay and was the Packers' leading rusher for eight consecutive seasons. He was the first player in NFL history to rush for 1,000 yards in five consecutive seasons and was the league's leading rusher in 1962 with 1,474 yards.

Taylor was also a reliable receiver out of the backfield and was a key member of the Packers' passing attack. He was a two-time Pro Bowl selection as a fullback and was named to the NFL's All-Decade Team for the 1960s. He retired after the 1966 season with 8,207 career rushing yards and 83 touchdowns.
