Jodie Meeks is a former professional basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for nine seasons. He was born on August 21, 1987, in Nashville, Tennessee, and attended Norcross High School in Georgia. Meeks played college basketball at the University of Kentucky, where he was a standout player and earned All-SEC honors.
Meeks was selected in the second round of the 2009 NBA draft by the Milwaukee Bucks. He played for the Bucks for two seasons before being traded to the Philadelphia 76ers in 2012. Meeks had a breakout season with the 76ers in 2012-13, averaging a career-high 15.7 points per game and shooting 40.1% from three-point range.
After his stint with the 76ers, Meeks played for several other NBA teams, including the Los Angeles Lakers, Detroit Pistons, Washington Wizards, and Toronto Raptors. He was known for his ability to shoot from beyond the arc and was a valuable role player for many of the teams he played for.
