Joe Pavelski is an American professional ice hockey player who has had a successful career in the National Hockey League (NHL). He was born on July 11, 1984, in Plover, Wisconsin, and began playing hockey at a young age. Pavelski played for the Waterloo Black Hawks in the United States Hockey League (USHL) before attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he played for the Badgers.
In 2003, Pavelski was drafted by the San Jose Sharks in the seventh round of the NHL Entry Draft. He spent the next few years playing for the Sharks' minor league affiliate, the Worcester Sharks, before making his NHL debut in 2006.
