Jordan Lyles is a former Major League Baseball pitcher who played for several teams during his career. He was born on October 19, 1990, in Hartsville, South Carolina, and was drafted by the Houston Astros in the first round of the 2008 MLB draft.

Lyles made his MLB debut on May 31, 2011, at the age of 20. He spent the majority of his early career with the Astros, pitching for them from 2011 to 2013. During his time with the Astros, Lyles struggled to find consistency, posting a 5.35 ERA over 377 innings pitched.
