Juan Carlos Oviedo, also known as Leo Nunez, was a Dominican professional baseball pitcher who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for nine seasons. He began his career in 2005 with the Kansas City Royals and played for several teams, including the Miami Marlins and Tampa Bay Rays.

Oviedo was known for his fastball and slider pitches, which helped him become a successful closer for the Marlins. In 2011, he recorded 36 saves and had a 4-6 record with a 4.06 ERA. However, his career was temporarily derailed when it was discovered that he had been playing under a false identity. Oviedo had been using the name Leo Nunez and had falsified his age and birthplace to sign with the Royals in 2000.

After resolving his identity issues, Oviedo returned to the Marlins in 2012 and continued to pitch well. He recorded 10 saves and had a 4-2 record with a 2.94 ERA. However, his performance declined in the following years, and he struggled with injuries and inconsistency.

Oviedo's last season in the MLB was in 2014, when he played for the Tampa Bay Rays. He had a 3-3 record with a 3.69 ERA in 32 appearances. After the season, he became a free agent and did not sign with another team.

Overall, Oviedo had a solid career in the MLB, recording 92 saves and a 4.28 ERA in 393 appearances. Despite his identity issues, he was able to overcome the controversy and continue playing at a high level.
