Kris Versteeg is a former professional ice hockey player who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for over a decade. He was known for his versatility, playing both forward and defense positions throughout his career.

Versteeg began his professional career in 2007, playing for the Rockford IceHogs in the American Hockey League (AHL). He quickly made a name for himself as a skilled and aggressive player, earning a call-up to the Chicago Blackhawks in 2008.

During his time with the Blackhawks, Versteeg was a key player in the team's 2010 Stanley Cup championship. He scored 14 points in 22 playoff games, including two goals in the Cup-clinching Game 6 against the Philadelphia Flyers.

After his success with the Blackhawks, Versteeg was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2010. He played for several other teams over the next few years, including the Philadelphia Flyers, Florida Panthers, Carolina Hurricanes, Los Angeles Kings, and Calgary Flames.

Throughout his career, Versteeg was known for his offensive skills and ability to play in all situations. He scored a total of 149 goals and 209 assists in 643 NHL games.

In addition to his NHL career, Versteeg also played internationally for Team Canada. He won a gold medal at the 2015 Spengler Cup and represented Canada at the 2018 Winter Olympics.

Versteeg announced his retirement from professional hockey in 2019, citing a desire to spend more time with his family. He has since become a co-host of the Spittin' Chiclets podcast, where he shares his insights and experiences from his hockey career.
