Matt Moore is a former American football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for over a decade. He began his career as an undrafted free agent with the Dallas Cowboys in 2007 but was released before the start of the regular season. Moore then signed with the Carolina Panthers, where he spent the majority of his career.

Moore served as a backup quarterback for the Panthers from 2007 to 2010, appearing in 13 games and starting 8 of them. He had his best season in 2009, when he threw for 1,053 yards, 8 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions in 5 starts. Moore's performance that season helped the Panthers finish with an 8-8 record, despite starting the year 0-3.

In 2011, Moore signed with the Miami Dolphins as a free agent and became their starting quarterback. He started 12 games that season, throwing for 2,497 yards, 16 touchdowns, and 9 interceptions. However, the Dolphins finished with a 6-10 record and Moore was replaced as the starter the following year.

Moore spent the next few seasons as a backup quarterback for the Dolphins, appearing in a total of 29 games from 2012 to 2016. He started 3 games during that span, throwing for 721 yards, 8 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions.

In 2017, Moore once again became the Dolphins' starting quarterback after starter Ryan Tannehill suffered a season-ending injury. Moore started 2 games that season, throwing for 861 yards, 4 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions. However, the Dolphins finished with a 6-10 record and Moore was replaced as the starter the following year.

Moore then signed with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2018, where he served as the backup quarterback to Patrick Mahomes. He appeared in 2 games that season, throwing for 117 yards and 1 touchdown.

Moore retired from the NFL after the 2019 season, having played in a total of 59 games and starting 30 of them. He threw for 7,647 yards, 46 touchdowns, and 36 interceptions during his career. Despite never being a full-time starter, Moore was known for his toughness and ability to step in and perform well when called upon.
