Merlin Olsen was an American football player who had a successful career in the National Football League (NFL). He was a defensive tackle for the Los Angeles Rams from 1962 to 1976. He was selected as an All-Pro in each of his first 14 seasons and was voted to the Pro Bowl 14 times. He was also named the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 1974.
