Murray Costello was a Canadian ice hockey player who had a successful career in the National Hockey League (NHL). He was born in 1933 in Toronto, Ontario and began playing hockey at a young age. He played junior hockey for the Toronto Marlboros and was a member of the Memorial Cup-winning team in 1953.

Costello was drafted by the Boston Bruins in 1953 and made his NHL debut in the 1954-55 season. He played in the NHL for four seasons, appearing in a total of 181 games. During his time in the NHL, Costello scored 37 goals and had 42 assists. He was also a physical player, recording over 200 penalty minutes.
